Mac Miller Poster

This poster came out of a need to create. For context, during my senior year of college I was given a full semester of general education classes, which left me with no opportunities to make anything. So, toward the end of the semester, I started working on this project. At the time, I was listening to a lot of Mac Miller, particularly his first posthumous release Circles. I wanted to create something that reflected the mood of the album.

To start, I put on the album and, throughout its duration, wrote down everything that came to mind. This included the vibe of the album, the atmosphere it created, and how it made me feel. By the end, I felt like I could capture the essence of the record. For anyone who has listened to it (and if you have not, please do, it is fantastic), the record is very laid back and minimal. To reflect that, I chose a pastel blue to capture the tranquility of the album and used a minimalist art style. To me, the lyrics and vocals feel raw, so to reflect that sense of imperfection, I added a rough texture to the design.
